Carly and Brennan
Current status: Throwing enough sparks to qualify as a fire hazard. Their biggest obstacle: Brennan has bad news written all over him. Oh, wait, that’s not an obstacle; for Carly, that’s a turn-on.
Alexis and Ric
Current status: Divorced sparring partners. Their biggest obstacle: Alexis is well aware that there’s not a trap big enough to trap a rat like her former husband. But boy, does Ric know how to get under her skin!
Sonny and Natalia
Current status: Flirting, even if only they will drink to that. Their biggest obstacle: Natalia’s a hom*ophobe who shamed daughter Blaze into the closet for most of her life. But we guess Sonny thinks she’s so good-looking that it doesn’t matter that being with her is not a good look for him.
Blaze and Kristina
Current status: They’ve already played their swan song. Their biggest obstacle: After Kristina lost the baby she was carrying, theoretically for half sister Molly and partner TJ, she was so bereft that she pushed away her supportive girlfriend.
Lucky and Elizabeth
Current status: First loves that didn’t last. Their biggest obstacle: The former marrieds have been through so much together that they’d have to think twice before getting back together.
Dante and Sam
Current status: Together. Their biggest obstacle: The shadow of his comatose wife, Lulu, looms large over their future. Which is odd, because Lulu is not very tall. There’s also the fact that Sam reportedly has a date with the Grim Reaper.
Molly and TJ
Current status: Life partners. Their biggest obstacle: With Kristina acting as a surrogate, the couple’s efforts to start a family nearly ended ’em. And they’ve only just begun to feel the undertow of their grief.
Sasha and Cody
Current status: Made for each other. Their biggest obstacle: It’s only a matter of (very little) time before Brando’s widow and her hero leave the friend zone for good.

Current status: See photo above. Their biggest obstacle: They’ve rebounded from the misstep that nearly did in their romance. But is the attraction of these opposites strong enough to make the newlyweds lifers?
Dex and Josslyn
Current status: Once more, with feeling. Their biggest obstacle: Thank goodness Dex joined the PCPD. Even though her mom’s a Mob moll and she hearts Jason like he’s her favorite uncle, Josslyn was ready to dump her boyfriend for his involvement in the “family business.”
Spencer and Trina
Current status: Over… board. Their biggest obstacle: Nicholas Alexander Chavez’s exit as Spencer left Trina’s honey, however unintentionally, telling her, “Sea ya.”
Michael and Willow
Current status: Married… with problems. Their biggest obstacle: Relationships are work, and relationships with grumps like Michael, hard work. So Willow is finding it ever more attractive to consider playing with Drew.
Carly and Jason
Current status: TBD. Their biggest obstacle: Sonny. The way Laura Wright sees it, Jason can never trust Carly to be true to him so long as her favorite ex is in Port Charles.
Portia and Curtis
Current status: Happily married. Their biggest obstacle: Though their relationship healed almost as quickly as Curtis did from that pesky gunshot wound, Portia’s thirst for revenge against Heather could drop potholes where there otherwise would be a smooth road.
Gregory and Tracy
Current status: A dream that didn’t come true. Their biggest obstacle: ALS shortened Gregory’s life to the point that Tracy didn’t get to play a very big role in it.
Robert and Holly
Current status: They are, as k.d. lang would sing, one another’s constant craving. Their biggest obstacle: Circ*mstances keep conspiring to keep them from being together long enough to do more than steal the occasional kiss.
Laura and Kevin
Current status: Happily hitched. Their biggest obstacle: It’s hard to keep a relationship stable in a town as quake-prone as Port Charles. Plus, will they even survive their attempt to bring Lucky home?
Nina and Drew
Current status: Crimson colleagues who put more to bed than each issue of the magazine. Their biggest obstacle: Nina is only carrying on with Drew in hopes that daughter Willow won’t ruin her marriage to be with the older man.
Elizabeth and Ric
Current status: Divorced and then some. Their biggest obstacle: Never having been all that good at knowing when to quit, Ric might shrug off his failed past relationships with Liz and convince himself that yeah, sure, the third time will be the charm.
Carly and Drew
Current status: Splitsville. Their biggest obstacle: The minute Drew heard that his “late” brother Jason was back among the living, he knew that his relationship with Carly had one foot in the grave. He just gave it a shove over the edge.
Felicia and Mac
Current status: The picture of a perfect couple. Their biggest obstacle: Cody’s addition to the Scorpios’ family tree is less of an obstacle now that the truth is out than it is an opportunity.
Scotty and Lucy
Current status: Oh my. Their biggest obstacle: She was committed to Martin. Yet plotting anew with Scotty left Lucy making hay with her ex too quickly for either of them to bail.
Terry and Yuri
Current status: Sweethearts. Their biggest obstacle: Given their lack of screentime, we can’t tell whether they’re getting enough quality time.
Ned and Olivia
Current status: Married. Their biggest obstacle: It’s resolved now that the amnesiac has remembered who he is and, just as important, who his family is.
Finn and Elizabeth
Current status: Crying in their beer. Their biggest obstacle: Once Finn had tumbled off the wagon, it was only a matter of time before the aforementioned wagon rolled over his relationship with Elizabeth.
Anna and Valentin
Current status: Alas, only a memory. Their biggest obstacle: A combo platter of Valentin’s lies and Anna’s shooting his daughter added up to a soul-stomping split. Yet she still succumbed to his charms before letting him skip town to avoid being arrested.
Carly and Sonny
Current status: Finished. Done. Forever. Er, for now. Their biggest obstacle: Now that Sonny has left Nina, there might be a chance that Carly will forgive and forget his betrayal. That is, if Brennan stops flirting with her long enough!
Ned and Lois
Current status: Amicable exes. Their biggest obstacle: Ned’s happily hitched to Lois’ pal, Olivia. On top of that, Rena Sofer thinks that it would be cruel to her and former husband Wally Kurth’s spouses to re-pair them on screen. (Read her comments here.)
Willow and Drew
Current status: Friends… with puckered lips. Their biggest obstacle: Take your pick. Is it the fact that Drew is sleeping with Willow’s mother or the fact that she’s married to Michael?
Sonny and Ava
Current status: Frenemies. Their biggest obstacle: Though Avery’s parents would probably make a killer power couple, she’s just happy that she still has a pulse after murdering his old flame, Connie.
Sam and Jason
Current status: Past tense. Their biggest obstacle: Even before his latest “demise,” she’d stuck a fork in their dangerous relationship. On top of that, she hasn’t just moved on, she’s moved all the way on with Dante.
Valentin and Nina
Current status: Old flames with warm feelings. Their biggest obstacle: Is there one, really? Now that Anna’s dumped Valentin and Sonny’s ditched Nina, the scheme team could discover that they’d also make a dream team.
Sasha and Brando
Current status: Parted in the worst possible way. Their biggest obstacle: The Hook killer’s rampage cut an irreparable hole in poor Sasha’s heart.
Sonny and Nina
Current status: He served her with divorce papers rather than breakfast in bed. Their biggest obstacle: Nina’s decision to rat out Sonny’s ex Carly to the SEC put their relationship to the test… and it flunked.
Ava and Austin
Current status: Fun while it lasted. Their biggest obstacle: The coconspirators had scarcely left the starting gate when the doctor was sent to the permanent finish line. Which reminds us… did we ever find out who killed him?
Jason and Elizabeth
Current status: Long done. Their biggest obstacle: Like Sam after her, Elizabeth refused to risk her children’s lives to be with Sonny’s enforcer. But, should she get another chance with Jake’s dad, would she throw caution to the wind and take it?
Dante and Lulu
Current status: Separated… though not by choice. Their biggest obstacle: Just as the Falconeris appeared to be on the verge of reuniting, she slipped into a coma and he, into Sam’s arms.
Diane and Robert
Current status: A non-starter. Their biggest obstacle: Diane was understandably reluctant to hold out her heart to a guy whose own still belongs to his exes, Anna and Holly. Robert, in turn, had reservations about dating the local crimelord’s biggest defender.
Sam and Drew
Current status: Friendly exes. Their biggest obstacle: Stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but… Drew’s relationship with Sam went belly-up when his twin brother Jason rose from the grave. Drew really needs a support group; this happens to him a lot.
Jordan and Zeke
Current status: Wait, that was it? Their biggest obstacle: As hot as they were and as warm as the pairing’s reception was, General Hospital seems to have decided to instead pair her with Brick.
Lucy and Martin
Current status: Let’s say… strained. Their biggest obstacle: Deception isn’t just the name of Lucy’s embattled company, it’s also one of her and Marty’s favorite pastimes.
Ava and Nikolas
Current status: “Exed” out. Their biggest obstacle: It’d be pretty hard for them to come back from Ava “killing” Nikolas (here Marcus Coloma) to keep him from kidnapping daughter Avery. Then again, since he’s been cooling his heels behind bars, we have seen some of those old, less homicidal feelings beneath the surface…
Curtis and Jordan
Current status: Divorced. Their biggest obstacle: Again, divorced. But besides that, he’s now married to Portia.
Spencer and Esme
Current status: Kaput — we hope. Their biggest obstacle: Her abduction of her ex and girlfriend Trina made the kind of splash from which neither Spencer nor Esme seemed likely to return anytime soon.
Britt and Cody
Current status: Looked good on paper but never made it off the page. Their biggest obstacle: They were just beginning to really connect when The Hook hastened the terminally ill doctor’s demise.
Lucky and Sam
Current status: Long-ago lovers. Their biggest obstacle: Their storylines are so far apart at this point, they probably couldn’t see one another if they were rocking binoculars.
Cameron and Josslyn
Current status: Broken up. Their biggest obstacle:The sex-tape debacle threw such a cold bucket of water on them that it was easy for Dex to reheat her.
Brad and Lucas
Current status: Divorced. Their biggest obstacle: Brad’s lie about Wiley’s parentage was the kinda deal-breaker that his husband didn’t want to renegotiate.
Esme and Nikolas
Current status:A thing of the past. Their biggest obstacle: His hookup with his son’s scheming girlfriend will go down in history as one of his biggest regrets.
Trina and Cameron
Current status: Longtime pals. Their biggest obstacle: We still hope that their shared grief over Spencer’s “death” could lead to the duo reevaluating their residence in the friend zone… just in time for Trina’s “late” boyfriend to return. Of course, first we’d need Cam back in Port Charles!
Gregory and Alexis
Current status: Misty, water-colored memories. Their biggest obstacle: Once Gregory was diagnosed with ALS, he became more concerned with his death than his love life.
Epiphany and Marshall
Current status: Sadly ended. Their biggest obstacle: The real-life loss of Sonya Eddy cut short her character’s latest last love story.
Jason and Britt
Current status: Dead and buried. Their biggest obstacle: It’s pretty hard to get a relationship going when both characters are one of the characters is pushing up daisies.
Liesl and Scotty
Current status: Apart… for now. Their biggest obstacle: In the end, we’re pretty sure they’re going to realize that they’re meant for one another. But in the middle, oof. She’s letting for grief over daughter Britt’s death bury her relationship, too.
Aiden and Tobias
Current status: Classmates… and crushes. Their biggest obstacle: Elizabeth is a blessedly accepting and supportive mom. But hom*ophobia and intolerance threaten to make first love as scary as joyful for Aiden (Enzo De Angelis here).
Chase and Willow
Current status: Finito. Their biggest obstacle: After she fell for fake husband Michael for real, Chase moved on — and toward Brook Lynn.
Terry and Chet
Current status: Over before they began. Their biggest obstacle: His sister Amy’s conniving moved him right out of town — and her boss’ life.
Austin and Maxie
Current status: Done. Their biggest obstacle: There was more to the doctor than met the eye — and Maxie didn’t like what she saw.
Brick and Jordan
Current status: Playing detective. Their biggest obstacle: The police commissioner is all business, the investigator, all funny business.
Charlotte and Jake
Current status: Over… for now. Their biggest obstacle: This is one case of puppy love that just might bite, owing to the fact that Charlotte creepily takes after her malevolent late grandmother, Helena.
Britt and Austin
Current status:Former General Hospital colleagues. Their biggest obstacle: First she stuck him in the friend zone. Then she herself got stuck in the morgue!
Rory and Trina
Current status: A grave matter. Their biggest obstacle: If her love for Spencer drove one nail after another into their relationship’s coffin, Rory’s death drove the final one in.
Nikolas and Elizabeth
Current status: Old friends, ex-lovers and coconspirators. Their biggest obstacle: Wherever Nikolas goes trouble follows. So given her druthers, Liz will go the other way, thank you very much.
Ryan and Ava
Current status: Status? Are you kidding? Their biggest obstacle: Ava would sooner drop dead than have anything to do with the obsessed serial killer. Thankfully, he was dispatched before it came to that.
